There are two international airports near Rome:
Fiumicino (FCO) and
Ciampino (CIA). Fiumicino mainly serves
the major companies, while most low-cost flights arrive at Ciampino. Fiumicino is west of Rome,
near to the coast, and is directly connected by train to the main train station;
Ciampino is south-east of Rome, and there is a bus to the main train station.
If you choose the taxi, we recommend that you get it at the official stop:
beware of unofficial taxies (see also here). The prices are fixed and should not exceed 30 euros from Ciampino and 40 or 60 from Fiumicino
(60 if the taxi driver is from Fiumicino, 40 otherwise; this sounds a bit crazy, we know). Prices include luggage
and up to four peoples.
For more informations, see the sites of the airports.
